Satellite Goes Greener

What’s green in winter, low-energy in summer, and eco-friendly all year round? Satellite’s new Green Office Initiative, of course!  With Satellite’s green building practices already in place, we wanted to take them a step further by applying them to our everyday activities.  Thanks to grant funding from the Bank of America Foundation, we were able to develop an-all encompassing green office plan for 2009 and beyond.

The new initiative outlines tips and policies to follow in the workplace to reduce Satellite’s carbon footprint and increase the sustainability of our business practices.  It covers everything from ordering environmentally-friendly office supplies, to green transportation, to recycling and composting.

After initial confusion from Satellite staffers about what exactly goes into the compost bin (organic and biodegradable materials are a go while foil wrappers are a no!), everyone in the office is excited about the plan.

We would like to extend a big thank you to the Bank of America Foundation for making our Green Office Initiative possible!
