  • Executive Director
    Dori Kojima
    Dori Kojima has been with Satellite Housing since 2002, and has been the Director of Housing Development since 2005. She has been part of six new construction and three rehabilitation projects, along with various new communitiies in the pipeline. With over 400 units in production, Ms. Kojima has ensured the progress of all of the Satellite's new developments as well as the recapitalization and rehab of Satellite's existing portfolio. Dori has her Master of City Planning and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of California at Berkeley, specializing in the Housing and Community Developement and Health Policy and Management. Dori is currently Acting Executive Director.
  • Director of Human Resources and Administration
    Miriam Benavides
    Miriam Benavides has been Satellite's Director of Human Resources and Administration since 2005. Miriam has over ten years of experience in Human Resources Management. Prior to joining Satellite, Miriam was the manager of Human Resources for The Unity Council, a nonprofit community development organization, and its subsidiary, Peralta Service Corporation. Miriam is an experienced Human Resource professional, bringing to Satellite her extensive knowledge of State and Federal Employment Laws, specializing in Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Workers’ Compensation. Miriam is an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), the Northern California Association of Human Resources Management (NCHRA), and the Alameda County Employer Advisory Council.
  • Director of Housing Development
    Diep Do
    Diep joined Satellite Housing as the Interim Director of Housing Development in July 2012. She has over 14 years of experience in affordable housing and community development. Diep was previously the Director of Housing Development at Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) in San Francisco. During her tenure, TNDC completed 13 development projects totaling 1,190 housing units valued at $240 million. Diep also worked at Skid Row Housing Trust and the Culver City Redevelopment Agency in Los Angeles. Diep was selected as a Northern California Real Estate Woman of Influence by the San Francisco Business Times in 2011 and as a Young Leader in Affordable Housing by the Affordable Housing Finance Magazine in 2008. She previously served on the Boards of Directors of the Nonprofit Housing Association of Northern California and the Council of Community Housing Organizations. Diep received a M.A. in Urban Planning and a B.A. in Urban Studies from UCLA.
  • Director of Property Management
    Zachary Lopez
    Zachary Lopez joined Satellite Housing in 2010 with over seven years of experience in the property management field. Zach served as compliance manager and operations manager for property management at Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation before joining Satellite, and holds his B.S. in computer science and computer engineering from UC Davis. Zach has worked with numerous funding programs on deeply layered projects including: HUD, CTCAC, HOME, HCD, CalHFA, local Section 8, and other specialized local sources. Born and raised in Oakland, Zach is also active within the industry serving as board treasurer of Affordable Housing Management Associates of Northern California, Nevada and Hawaii. He is also on the Advisory Council of the San Francisco Kroc Center, and is a member of the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California's Property Stewardship Committee.
  • Director of Resident Services
    Shashi Jivan
    Shashi joined Satellite in July of 2012 as the Director of Resident Services.  Shashi has worked locally in Oakland as a school coach and facilitator before joining the affordable housing industry in 2000 as a Resident Services Supervisor at Mercy Housing. Over the past twelve years, Shashi has provided direct service to residents at family properties and helped develop national program models in Resident Services that target specific outcomes for residents of affordable housing.  Shashi’s passion for serving our residents is inspired by their day-to-day lives and stories.
