Support The HOMeS Act!
This year, many residents and staff are strongly advocating for the passage of SB 1220, The HOMeS Act. This bill, introduced by Senators DeSaulnier and Steinberg, will secure needed funding for the creation and preservation of homes affordable to seniors, working families, and persons with special needs. Satellite residents and staff are coming together to support this bill to ensure that there are homes that Californians can afford.

Remembering Hal Foster –
A Visionary Executive Director
In January, we witnessed the passing of one of Satellite Housing's most inspiring leaders. Harold "Hal" Foster served as Satellite Housing's Executive Director from 1968 to 1990 and was one of the earliest pioneers of service-enriched affordable housing. His vast contribution to society include Satellite's first fourteen housing communities as well as the many, many lives he touched and enriched.
The Satellite community mourns the loss of a true visionary, and our thoughts go out to Hal's friends and family.

Grand Opening!
Satellite Housing and ABHOW would like to thank everyone who joined us on Wednesday, October 26 for the grand opening of Valley Vista in San Ramon. As the first HUD-funded affordable housing development for seniors in San Ramon, Valley Vista offers 105 units of vibrant, modern housing and provides a variety of sunny spaces to foster a strong community spirit.
Many thanks to the supporters who made this important endeavor possible, and thanks to the hundreds of friends that came to celebrate this momentous occasion with our residents!
